Girafferson

Found objects sculpture.

I lost a family member and friend this year and wanted to dedicate a project to them. They had the moniker Girafferson that they would use in the virtual world. They wore it so well that it spilled over into the real world too. The giraffe represents the essence of my very much missed friend and the material is a nod to the birth of the name as well as the world where it was most commonly used. The material is also poignant as it is recycled from dead computer parts that have been given a breath of life by being turned into art.

The sculpture is made of circuit boards, aluminum, and epoxy. The circuit boards were cut following a paper-folding diagram created with the Pepakura software. The pieces were held in place with aluminum tape to be fixed with epoxy
