What’s the messiest art medium you can think of? Ink? Clay? Charcoal? It’s the (surprisingly not French) technique of paper mâché. The framework of the rifle is made up of Styrofoam that’s reinforced by pieces of metal that I found outside. For example, the trigger is the top of a lighter and the flintlock piece is made of a small chest hinge. The hand is a result of stuffing a latex glove full of clay. I can’t say this project was easy, but I did have a lot of fun using the paper mâché. Down below is the recipe for the stuff. I’d advise that you bring some cleaning supplies with you just in case!
