In the Spring of 2017, two courses participated in a joint project mapping the Oakland Cemetery. Professors Jeff Young (History) and Brennan Collins (American Lit) asked their students to look at the characteristics and residents of the different sections of Oakland Cemetery, focusing specifically on how race relations in the city of Atlanta have shaped the cemetery’s organization since its establishment in 1850.
