Sequential Narrative (Aerosol)
3 Drawings
Overview
For these two projects we were tasked with two different things. The first was a drawing project where we chose pictures in different perspectives and had to use different mediums to make these drawings in our own style with out the use of a straight edge. The goal was to help us understand perspective as well as the give us a basis for the next project. The second one we were to create a narrative using what we previously learned in the last project while also including our three drawings in some way. Our narrative would tell the story of a hero of our own creation.
Process
I approached both of these with a couple different things in mind. I wanted the drawings and narrative to capture my past, present and future. So, I chose places relating to that. I also played around with the different mediums to try and figure out which ones I wanted to use with which drawings. I used a place like unsplash to get my references. More with the sequential narrative, I wanted to combine traditional and digital media to kind of do a best of both worlds. I wanted my hero to be a hero who protected the worlds beauty as well as make the job his own.
My Takeaway
I would take away the different types of mediums now at my disposal. With things like ink, watercolor, and toned media under myself I feel I can really expand my portfolio. The learning of storyboarding is also something I will take away. I could never tell proper stories that flowed when I was younger, but after taking notes and practicing storyboarding, I feel way more equipped in terms of my skill.
