The above image shows Atlantic Station before it was actually considered “Atlantic Station”. Atlantic Station wasn’t built on an empty lot in the center of the city. Atlantic Station was built around what used to be the Atlantic Steel Mill, and the history of the location is easily overlooked by residents and visitors alike. I visited the location many times without the slightest idea of what the place has gone through to become what it is today. The property that lies near the center of Atlanta has gone through a massive re-purposing project to become what it currently is. Though the transformation has only left a few remnants of the old mill, the Atlantic Steel Company’s abuse of the land has played a large role in the community’s renovation. A lot has gone into creating this community that can appeal to not only history buffs, and art lovers, but a wide variety of interests and occupations. Atlantic Station still exist today and is located in Midtown Atlanta.
The colors of the train are dull and shiny at the same time, with the front of the train being all Black, the middle section is Green, and the tail end of the train is Red. There is a top railing on the top of the train that is also green, except the railing is rusted a little and the green isn’t as shiny as the body of the train. The writing on the side of the train is printed in White and it reads “Steel Mill Express” with every word still looking brand new. The train includes a bell in the front of the train that is worn out and is presented in the color Black.
There’s a frozen yogurt place within Atlantic Station, in which the inside is completely green, all across the walls, even the yogurt toppings counter is green. The topping station includes variety of colors, such as Pink, Brown, White, Green, Yellow, Orange etc. Each color is sorted and separated by the specific toppings. The gummy bears are multiple colors, the gummy worms are two connected colors with each end being different colors of each other. Majority of the gummy bears are green and red. The coconut topping sits to the left side of the Nerds. All of the toppings look fresh and bring attention to them because of their bright colors.
A flower shop sits near the middle section of Atlantic Station and the views from the outside is attention grabbing because there are multiple colors associated within the image of flowers printed on the windows and door of the flower shop. The black framed window to the left includes a yellow rose image that is perfectly blended next to the window with red rose. The colors aren’t bright because of the material of the window, but the colors are clear enough to bring attention to them. The flower shop is bricked in with light brown bricks with white lining within the cracks of the wall lines, in which the color of the brick is properly blended with the color of the windows flower print colors.
There were multiple flower vases that were made out of marble. The marble vases were different colors but lined up
perfectly with distance between each. The vase in the front is a blue waterfall tented marble color and it looks really shiny and brand new. The vase behind it looked older because of it’s dull light blue color with a small patch of a darker blue coating. The very last vase (behind the second vase) looks more worn out because it is strictly a coat of white and light blue mixed together. Looking closely at the second and last vase, there were a few cracks towards the bottom surface, near the bricks. The bricks make the vases stand out even more because usually bricks are dark brown and neat, these bricks were very worn out with a dingy brown and black color, with skint marks of white on a few bricks.
Central Park is clearly a green area. This area is polished because of it’s neatly cut green grass, including the purple
and green trees that stand along the left side of the grass. There is a stone, dirt and mini bush bed that rests off to the side of the grass, in which some of the small bushes have decayed and are a brownish and green color mixed, while the other mini bushes are completely green. Within the Central Park is a restaurant with mainly the color red on the outside. The shade umbrellas are a little worn out, with slight stains on them that aren’t too noticeable, but noticeable enough to see a small fade in the red cloth material that it’s made of.
