Academic citation is huge in college classes when writing a paper. In high school I was taught the many styles and how to accurately use them. One thing I learned when reading the citing source supplement was the style turabian. I had never heard of this citation style. Even though it’s quite like Chicago style it was interesting to learn about it. The second thing I learned was that you have to cite when using graphs and diagrams. That was interesting to me because I have never cited when using those and was never taught that you had to. However, it does make sense to why you have to. The third thing I learned was that you shouldn’t cite Wikipedia. The GSU library tutorial on citation styles suggested that it is a good place to start when looking for information but you should always find more reliable sources.
