Hello, my name is Dedra Morris and I am a mixed media artist born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After a long career as a hair color artist and stylist I was presented with the opportunity to return to college and follow my two greatest passions in life, art and science. I am currently a fine art major at Georgia State University, and will be working towards a minor in biology. I plan receive my bachelors in art education and would love to complete a masters in art therapy. It would be a dream to bring the therapeutic value of art children and adults with disabilities and special needs. I would like to develop an art therapy program for young adults and adults diagnosed with mental health and addiction recovery needs.
In my personal life it’s my animals, my son, and the great outdoors! I love, gardening, kayaking, hiking and yoga. My son, Joshua is 28 and also an artist. I have a senior pug named Roxanne and a 2 year old bearded dragon named Copernicus. They run my production company, “Pug Lizard Production”.
