“High Fidelity Silence”: The Dream Project

“High Fidelity Silence”: The Dream Project

Intro to Studio, Fall Semester, Professor Alembik

Images and artwork for the short film, “High Fidelity Silence,” by Dedra Morris.

For this assignment we were able to experience every aspect of a project from concept and storyboarding to production and editing.  We were first assigned to journal our dreams for concept ideas and research.  From there we developed a narrative and storyboards for our film planning and Ideas.  We were then able to develop our film by acting as producer, writer, director, and film editor.

I am not a film student, nor do I have any experience in animation or film.  I used rough sketches from my story board, artwork, photography, and short videos I recorded.  There is no animation, just sequential alterations to artwork and photos.  I struggled a little with sound layering because I have never done anything with sound before.

This project was extremely helpful in breaking down the creative process.  I will be able to use every aspect of this experience for future creative projects.  It was SO MUCH FUN!
