The Web Style Guide

Greetings and Salutations. I believe this is my last post for this semester. First off, I’d like to thank all of you for keeping up with this blog and taking your time to stop by.

Now, for this post, I recently read a guide on Web Style. It was a pretty informative blog that explained different formatting tips on Web Design.

Here are two tips on different Web Style.

First off, navigation is almost key in web style. Having an easy way to guide your viewers is crucial. If the viewer wants their information, they don’t want to go through 5 different links just to get a simple answer. Also, viewers want that information present immediately. Less effort, more benefits. Simple. Easy. Efficient.

Secondly, images and different graphics are nice. It’s great to have images to support your information and to “decorate” your website. However, putting too much graphics and pictures onto your page almost makes it look like a tornado hit your website. Too messy. Remember, simplicity is key. Be simple and clear about it. Just be careful not to be too bland. Viewers don’t want to stare at a white and black website all day. Throw some colors and make it flourish. Good luck!

Thanks for reading! Once again, good luck to everyone out there and take care of yourselves!

Best Regards!

3 Web Design Tips

Hey guys, how’s it going? I’m here to update on another way to improve your webdesign with some tips. I read these off of a website called Web Style Guide: Interface Design Section. So be sure to take note!

  1. Develop a draft. One effective way to create or develop a website is to start with a draft. Know how you want to lay out the design. Imagine and visualize how you want to send your message out on the internet!
  2. Consistency and Simplicity. Things on the website should be easy to read and each webpage should be straight to the point. No need to include too much information. Also, the pages should link with each other. This consistency helps keep readers from losing concentration. Fonts, theme, design should be simple and consistent as well.
  3. Efficiency. Efficiency is crucial when making a webdesign. Having a straightforward navigation menu is important to make sure viewers can easily navigate without struggle through your website.

That’s all I have for today. I hope these tips helped and make sure to take care of yourselves!

Best Regards!

3 Powerpoint presentation tips

How’s it going, everyone? Long time no talk! I’ve been busy lately so it’s been hard to update the blog. I hope everyone’s been doing well and taking care of yourselves.

So recently, I came across this powerpoint advice website on how to make a better powerpoint. It’s by Garr Reynolds known as “Top Ten Slide Tips.” I think it’s very useful if you went to go check it out!

Anyways, the site taught me some cool ideas and key pointers on making powerpoint slides. I wanted to share a few with you that I felt was pretty significant.

First one I thought was an important tip that many people tend to forget: Consistency with fonts and colors. It seems that people tend to use weird fonts or color schemes that make the text impossible to read. Be sure to avoid that and use more consistent font!

Second tip I found pretty important was the pictures used on powerpoints. Many powerpoints tend to use little cartoon-like pictures and sometimes pictures that are unrelated to the topic at hand. This is a huge distraction for the audience and can cause more hindrance than aid to your presentation. So be sure to keep an eye out for that!

Last tip I’m sure many people forget is simplicity. Don’t try to go crazy and create a work of art that can only be understood by you. Don’t go climbing the walls for aesthetics and avoid using bizarre types of transitions. Just keep the presentation simple and make sure you get your point across!

Well that’s it for this post. Thanks for reading!

Best Regards.
