Perimeter Alumni Spotlight

         Mr. Devesh Dalmia, a Computer Science student at Georgia Tech, recently published a book on how to navigate college. His book titled “The College Success Guide: Your Guide to navigating college, conquering obstacles, and Thriving” takes a deep dive into how to overcome challenges and how to make the most out of your time as a college student.
         Mr. Devesh was at Perimeter from 2017 – 2019 as an Engineering major and a R.E.P. student. Dr. Kim was his R.E.P. coordinator and Mr. Dalmia has taken courses with Drs. Gu, Kim, and Honkan. Mr. Dalmia was also part of a design team that placed first in the Memorial Day field of Flags Design Competition in Fall 2018.

NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS)

        NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) is a STEM engagement activity for community college students seeking to transfer to a 4-year institution or go directly to the labor force. NCAS uses NASA’s unique expertise, research, facilities, and other resources in the area of aerospace to engage students in authentic and experiential learning experiences. Three consecutive mission opportunities are offered alongside an opportunity to apply for a paid internship. NCAS also partners with Minority Serving Institutions enabling them to engage students in similar experiences that are scaled to the institutions’ STEM networks.

        Community college students participating in NCAS can expect to advance their capabilities in STEM, helping to prepare them for better representation and service in STEM fields. Each NCAS mission is designed to challenge and build student knowledge and skills in aerospace by focusing on NASA’s specific science and mission goals, collaboration, competition, and career pathways. By the end of participation, development of interest and talent toward entering a 4-year institution or toward entering the STEM workforce should be observable.
