Beafer Skimmer Horn
Bugs come in different shapes, sizes, and families of insects. They are creepy, crawly, and disgusting creatures that can do almost anything with their abilities to adapt to their environment. Each bug have their own unique ability to survive and what they eat to maintain their stability on earth. This project is about the creation of a bug from 3 or more bugs put together through the use of wire. To gather an idea of the bug I wanted the class and I went to the library to choose books about insects to combine them together, and create a blueprint of how the design would look . The bugs needs to have their own abilities/characteristics as to what they eat, environment they adapt to, and whether or not they breed alone, or come in groups. Also they would need to be able to stand on their own without props, have a moveable part, and if it flies more of the details should be focused into the wings. Working on my project I had errors of not adding legs to help support my bug, cutting and twisting the wire so that the ends are tight to not stick out, and creating the actual blueprint. As for my success the pattern and outline came out beautifully as if it looks like DNA in the wings. By observing my classmates bug I gained the ability to understand that bugs can be cute and fun to design. I also see that they put time and effort into their insects. I am willing to open up to more opinions into helping me further my art techniques to go into my portfolio. Personally even though I’m afraid of critique I should be more open to it because it has and will help out a lot through my career.
