Our hard work and perseverance has finally paid dividends. No more school, no more long nights, and no more worries, at least for now. The air is filled with innocence. The sunshine seems to last all day, and even longer accredited to playful laughter. We could finally let our hair down.
We’re all gathered together enjoying the sunset with the soothing music of J.Cole playing in the background while the delicious smell of barbecue strikes my nostrils.
Syd’s head is placed comfortably on my chest as she rubs my leather brown watch. I take a deep breath and open my eyes. Everything was perfect.
