Exploratory Podcast Script Rough Draft

Intro: Chill Instrumental fade (in)

Cheane: Good morning everyone, my name is Cheane Nurse and I am a freshman GSU student, and I am joined here with my guest (Guest Name), why don’t you say something for our listeners?
Guest: Hey what’s going on, My name is (Guest Name), I’m not really a GSU student but I’m here
Cheane: So today, we are going to be talking about the concept of arguing and different forms of arguing, by chance do you know anything about the different types of arguments  (Guest Name)?

Guest: I actually do not, what are they

Cheane: Well there are three main ways a person can argue, these three being through what is called pathos, logos, and/or ethos.

Cheane: Do any of these terms ring a bell to you now that you hear them.

Guest: Definitly not, I’ve been out of school for too long to remember those/They do ring a bell a little bit

Cheane: Well to refresh your memory, Pathos – is the act of arguing through emotions, Logos – is the act of arguing using logic, and Ethos – is the act of arguing through ethics

Guest: seems more familiar now
Cheane: We are going to take look at a reading piece we looked at in class, it was written by Jay Heinrichs, and is titled “Thank You For Arguing”
Cheane: In his written piece, he uses some personal experiences with his sons as an example, here’s one
Cheane:  Coming from page 36 of Heinrichs written piece *reads out* “But he just looked at me with tears in his eyes, Next, I tried reasoning with him, using argument by logic. Me: Pants will keep your legs from chapping. You’ll feel a lot better. George: But I want to wear shorts”

Cheane: Clearly he still failed arguing with a child but that is beside the point, he used logical reason to defend why he should wear pants instead of shorts. Now, for the audience, do you think you can tell them a story about a time you used a form of argument, it can be the other one too
Guest: Let’s see, *Interjects Story*
Cheane:  *Interjects Story about personal experiences also*

Cheane: Well that’s all really, thank you again (guest name) for joining me on my podcast today, see all you another time
Outro: Chill Instrumental (fade out)
