Blog post 9 – The Churches Interaction with Immigrants

When reading  Enrique’s journey I was impressed and proud of how much help the church offered for the immigrants. And it hit home as to how important what we do at my church is.  Reading about how the church is a pastor gave up his retirement funds to build a bigger church for the immigrants amaze me and made me second-guess myself for every time I second-guessed giving somebody else’s money. It was also amazing how much the whole neighborhood pitched in by offering food,  money, cement, and many more things. And I love that this is not a foreign thing that this is still going on in many different countries all over the world. It made me realize what a difference churches can make in the world.  Really the main thing we have to understand is that love is the key. Whatever you do out of your heart no matter how the person takes it where it came from is all that matters. And nine times out of 10 the people will be so gracious .

I formally volunteered at my church like 24 seven and it became a bit tiring. However seeing the magic that church volunteers could make happen by feeding, preparing, and blessing  be immigrants in Enrique’s journey made me rethink what my little tiredness means to me. Feeding and helping clothe people is so much more important .

For now on I will make it a point to  to start back giving him more volunteer time to my church so that I can bless many many people. Plus there’s always the blessings in it for myself as well. When you bless others you will be blessed. And then the next time that you are sitting around hungry and you ask your friend for food and they won’t give it to you and you start contempl and then the next time that you are sitting around hungry and you ask your friend for food and they won’t give it to you , Start contemplating how you can change that and make a difference and your friends like and every other person around you.
