Hodgepodge of Failures

“Hodgepodge of Failures” Black ink, July 9, 2022

In this assignment, we were given an hour to draw things that we were inexperienced with drawing, things that were out of our comfort zone, in order to get us more comfortable with imperfection and “drawing badly.” In order to keep ourselves from overworking one drawing and keep the process flowing, we also set a limit of 15 minutes for each individual drawing. Setting a timer for an hour with a second timer set at intervals of 15 minutes, I drew vehicles in various perspectives, two things I usually shy away from but would like to get better at. It was more fun than I was expecting it to be, and something I feel I should do more often on my own time.

An initial page of sketches was made without a timer or theme, just to get a feel for using ink without a pencil sketch. Following are some free 3D assets from pixelsquid.com that were used for reference. All the images drawn are assets from PixelSquid.
