5 community-based non-profit organizations
There are many Asian-supporting community in this area, because of the population in here. My school’s 70 percent of population is Asian, they will benefit from these organizations directly and indirectly.
1.Atlanta Asian Culture and Arts Center
Mission: Our mission is to develop education, promote Sino-US cultural exchanges, and create a platform for the understanding and the development of multiculturalism for the Atlanta community.
AACAC is located at 10475 Medlock Bridge Road Suite 515Johns Creek, GA 30097. This organization is quite familiar to me, because I volunteered here when I was in high school. I had two chance to visit this place. I moved musical instruments and helped out staffs. Atlanta Asian Culture and Arts center’s goal is providing multiculturalism through form of Art. This organization has been found since the year of 2006. My school, Yi Hwang Academy, is very close to this place, so they may do a field trip to this place for multiculturalism.
2.Together We Can Foundation
Mission: The mission is to provide opportunities and assistance for people in need to empower them to transform their lives.
Together We Can is 501(c)3 non profit dedicated to serving everyone, of any faith or of no faith. This organization seeks individuals and groups committed to making significant and meaningful changes in their communities, both locally and internationally and it is located at 2645 N Berkeley Lake Rd NW f142, Duluth, GA 30096. It helps the community, but it seems that go out internationally and help the under developed countries.
3.Manan Foundation
Mission: To instill the spirit of tolerance and creativity as a lifestyle in our society to achieve a more harmonious, healthy, intelligent and prosperous life and promoting togetherness in spreading positive energy in our community.
4.Center for Pan Asian Community Services
Mission: Founded on the belief that “people need people,” CPACS is the first, largest and oldest organization in the Southeast to focus on issues and concerns of Asian Americans, especially women, children and families with low incomes.
As far as I know this center is the biggest non profit organization in this area. It is situated at 4405 International Blvd NW., Norcross, GA Suite C-101. This organization provide SNAP (Food stamp), ESL, Homebuyer Workshop and Transportation, translation, interpretation, housing, counseling and social services. Because Covid impacted last year, many organizations were out of date or not up to date in the website, but this organization kept updating news and supports to Asian community.
5.The Choson Foundation
Mission: Providing continues educational support to child around the world who wants to be educated.
This foundation found at 2002 with family of Cho, James Ann and Patrick. It not only supports the scholarship, but also they visit under developed countries and do the mission works. This helped more than 700 students in total and have organized 6 schools in the under developed countries. More over they have visited more than 12 counties to do the missionary work.
