Robert Sheesley is an accomplished executive leader with decades of experience driving transformational change and growth across mid-market and Fortune 500 organizations. Robert has expertise in mergers and acquisitions with both private and public companies, having led due diligence and post-deal integrations for over six dozen transactions during his career. Robert is the founder and managing partner of emphisys, LLC a CIO Advisory and Mergers and Acquisitions consulting practice. In his current role as Interim Chief Information Officer and Board Member of start-up Bump Search, Robert is responsible for the long-term technology strategy and advancing the next generation search and social platforms through the next seed round of funding to achieve a million subscribers and digital creator critical mass as a high growth search engine and social community.
In his previous recent role as Chief Information Officer of private equity-backed Wrench Group, an industry leading U.S.-based home services consolidator, Robert was responsible for setting the information, digital and technology strategy, planning and leading over thirty acquisition integrations across twelve states, building a corporate technology operations organization, and, evolving the information, infrastructure, security, privacy and computing platforms that enabled Wrench Group’s historic growth from $250M to $2B, landing the company at number 2950 in the Inc 5000 in 2021, placing in the top 60% of the rankings. His accomplishments included building a team of high performing information technology and business process professionals, driving innovation and adoption of technology across the growing enterprise to support data-driven strategies, information-based decision making and digital transformation, negotiating all technology and services contracts across the enterprise and introducing industry disruptive capabilities through technology to create competitive advantage and drive organic and transactional growth.
During his nearly seven-year tenure at Wrench Group, Robert was the recipient of several industry awards, including the HotTopics 2024 Global CIO 100 award, the ETS Solutions’ 2024 Servant Technology Concilium CIO of The Year award and InspireCIO’s 2023 Georgia CIO of The Year Orbie award. His digital transformation team was selected as the Technology Association of Georgia’s (TAG) 2022 Digital Transformation Project of The Year.
Robert began his career as a United States Marine and a systems engineer with Electronic Data Systems. He holds a MBA and Bachelor of Science Degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, a Cyber Security Leadership Certification and Enterprise Architecture Certification from Carnegie Mellon University, a TOGAF 9 Enterprise Architecture Certification from The Open Group, a Business Architecture Certification from DePaul University, and a Merger and Acquisition Integration Expert Certificate from Pritchett, LP. He serves on the advisory boards of RemotelyMe, the only Human Risk Management platform that goes beyond traditional security and awareness training by creating high-trust, low-risk cultures, offering a HR platform that maps predictive biomarkers to risk by blending behavioral science and cognitive AI, and Fireside Strategic, a privately-funded consolidator of mental and behavioral health practices, with a focus on clinician retention and satisfaction to drive sustainable value and growth. Robert also serves on the executive advisory council of inspiredu Atlanta and previously served on the advisory board of GeorgiaCIO.
