Thank You, Mr. Lewis.

Dear John Lewis,

In reading the final pages of your book, I felt an immense feeling sadness. Your passion and perseverance showed through your decision to march even though the SNCC did not agree. You were

Never give up on what I believe in just because I may not have the support of others. Your book taught me a lot, made me feel a lot, but most importantly, it opened my eyes to a lot. I think all that you had fought for your whole life came full circle when you met President Barack Obama, though you may see it differently. After reading your book Mr. Lewis, all I can say is thank you. Thank you for taking the time to write such a powerful book that brings awareness to such a heavy, yet extremely prevalent issue in our world. Even today. I think that a way we can combat the issues we face today and change them moving forward is to bring awareness. Have those hard conversations and debate it out, hear both arguments, and agree to disagree at times. Thank you for enlightening me Mr. Lewis.

Sincerely,

Celine High
