Artist Statement
The reason I chose the following pieces is that they each show my current style as well as the fact that all have meaning. The first painting named “Blue women” represents the calm & vulnerability that can be found in women. The second painting named “Darkness” depicts how depression and anxiety can eat a person from the inside, out until there is nothing but darkness. The third painting is called “Happy” and depicts all the things that make me calm and happy and the little joys in life. Finally, the fourth painting named “silence” depicts a scene of a young girl frozen as time goes past her during a pandemic and the girl is me. In Conclusion, while my work does have meaning I choose to paint in a way that still leaves room for interpretation because I welcome all ideas and concepts for my work.
