Granted that most would assume that playing games as a living is baffling and a waste of time, it does not refute the fact that these gamers do make money off of it. The best of the best earn as much as hundreds of thousands of dollars each year through winnings and contracts, this is only limited to the top. The average pro gamer makes up to 50-60 grand a year through contracts, way less then professional athletes in other sports which on average is in the millions, it does not account to possible sponsorships (G2A.com, Scuff Gaming, Alienware, and much more) and other methods of revenue such as subscription from Twitch streaming and Youtube. Though the salaries of these gamers will never come close to athletes in football, soccer, or other World league sports, it is still a more reasonable amount considering how big eSports is. Others would say that watching eSports would not be as appealing as other sports, contrary to that belief, 60% percent of Americans play games and around 50% of them are well aware of eSports.
