Hey guys!
My name is Bijita Mistry; also known as B, i’m a sophomore here at Georgia State University studying Exercise Science. Some people say they just have that “awakening” of what they want to do with their lives, but mine wasn’t an awakening, it was more of a comfort and excitement. Every time i’ve been in an orthopedics or rehabilitation center, I feel a rush of excitement knowing that I will be apart of one, one day. Since the day i’ve been able to walk, i’ve been playing sports. My family is from England, so I have a strong influence of soccer. Therefore, i’ve played the sport for almost 14 years. Besides playing sports, I love traveling. I’ve been to many different parts of Europe, especially the United Kingdom. I am born and raised in New Jersey, and currently live here still, but go back and forth between New Jersey and Georgia. Just like any other Northerner; New York City, Philadelphia, Princeton, Washington D.C., Baltimore and other major sights of interest that we go to, are often to explore more than to sightsee. Whether I go by myself for an adventure, or with people, I never seize to live in the moment. I love to be around people with similar interests and personality. Moving to Georgia was a huge step in my life, and not to be cliche, but becoming a part of a sorority made the move a lot easier. I came down to Atlanta with a whole new perspective and outlook on life, looking for something new and different. But never in a million years did I think I would be in a sorority. I saw myself as the antithesis of a typical sorority girl. Zeta Tau Alpha has brought my greatest strengths and leadership out, that I didn’t see in myself before. I find myself in times of trouble, and I know I can reach out to the 80 sum women that are apart of Zeta Tau Alpha. And if you catch that reference, “I find myself in times of trouble,” I love music. I love the classics, indie rock, and a ton of other genres. When i’m not doing work on my laptop, you can find me drinking my daily cups of coffee while reading music blogs online. I watch more TV series than I can count on my fingers. Even though I love to go out and have fun, I love those days I can stay in bed and watch movies all day. Oh I forgot to mention, I love the classic movies, my favorite of all time may be The Graduate and my favorite Romantic Comedy is, When Harry Met Sally; the classic cliche love story that stems from Casablanca. Woody Allen may be one weird guy, but his movies are something else.
That’s a good look into my life, but there’s more to come each and every day I live.
Bijita Mistry
good luck there!
