Labor and Delivery Nurses help bring babies into the world every day they are on the job. Their job is to care for women during labor and childbirth, monitoring the baby and the mother, coaching mothers and assisting doctors. Furthermore, they prepare women, and their families, for the stages of giving birth and help patients with breastfeeding after the baby is born.
In order to become a Labor and Delivery Nurse, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and the individual state boards of nursing made an exam that candidates must pass in order to to obtain a license. With that license, you can work as a Nurse not only in the state you to the exam, but anywhere in the United States.
