A Little About Me

My name is Shawn Windom. I am 21 and I am from Decatur, Georgia. My mom is from Kenya and my father is from Chicago so I am a mix of two different cultures. My interest are mainly in music, fashion, technology, and media. I started playing instruments when I was 10 years old with a trumpet in my elementary school band class. I then continued to play until I was 13 which I then started taking piano lessons. I continued to learn music theory though my piano teach as well as pick up other instruments in the process. I am now a Dj, recording artist, and producer. I mainly enjoy house, edm, rap, rnb, and alternative music. Some of my favorite artist include River Tiber, Mall Grab, Robb Banks, Travis Scott, and Kaytranada. I have been fortunate enough to Dj shows in Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, and Los Angeles. I plan on using music in a lot of different ways in the future such as continuing to develop as a Dj and be able to travel the world through that as well as making music of my own.

Nice to meet You All!

Hello, my name is Roman Scott. I am 18, adopted from Russia, and live with my dad and two dogs. I was adopted at a young age, so, unfortunately, I do not have a super cool Russian accent. This semester is my first at Georgia State. I graduated Highschool in May of 2021. I was unsure what to do at the time. I knew I wanted to go to college, but I had no clue where and for what. Taking a gap year has always interested me. The thought of traveling and living your best life thrilled my mind; however, during my break, neither happened. My main reason for taking a gap semester was working on myself and finding out my true passions in life. A little self-discovery doesn’t hurt. One thing to know about me is that I am a sucker for a good nature documentary. This liking started a few years ago. I had just finished cleaning up from dinner when I went into my living room, where the TV showed a rather interesting feature on hippos. I was instantly sucked in.

My future goals and plans have not all that established yet. I have no clue what I want to do later in life, though I have a few ideas. The arts have always played a big part in my life, specifically drama and film. I was a part of the Drama Ensemble throughout high school, which did not mesh well with my crippling stage-fright, the irony. I worked on a few films with my friends, being behind the lens, helping with different tech elements. That was where I felt most comfortable. I loved being a part of a group working to create something amazing. Working in the film industry is just one idea of a path I would choose. I have also thought about being a dentist or an optometrist, though I do not know if I am prepared for all the years of school required. I am still young and trying to learn about myself. So far, I am feeling excited but also anxious about this semester. Fingers crossed it all goes well. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

My casual bio

Hey yall!

My name is Alena (some people call me Rosey). I was born in Washington State and moved to Atlanta when I was 11.  My favorite color is purple and I hate the color pink lol.  I love action movies, including, Marvel, Divergent, and the Fast and Furious series.  My favorite movie is iron man I because I have a thing for iron man…not Robert Downey Jr., but the suit its self.  When I first saw that suit being made in the movie I ended up crying because I thought it was so beautiful. When it comes to music, I listen to everything from rock to hip-hop to country.  My favorite singers are A Boogie, Summer Walker, Bryson Tiller, and Chris Brown. Some of my hobbies include: playing volleyball, reading romance/fantasy novels, crocheting, and thrifting.

As a senior in high school, I still am not sure what I want to do with my career path.  For years I wanted to be an engineer but now I’m leaning towards medicine.  Maybe both? I love math because almost everything is determined.  In math, you can solve something with an equation or a step-by-step process.  Chemistry is my favorite science probably it’s the perfect mixture of math and science.  Then there is psychology, why people are born the way they are, and how the environment is a part of the influence is so interesting to me.  Lastly, when it comes to non-stem-related topics I love creative writing.  Writing stories, putting images in readers’ heads, etc., and reading stories like this are very entertaining.

A Little About Me

My name is Edward Yu and my major is Computer Science. I love playing games, with my favorite being Terraria. One of my favorite books I read is Unwind by Neal Shusterman, and I generally like Sci-fi, Dystopian types of books. I don’t have a specific genre of music I like, I just listen to whatever I happen to come across. My favorite movies are the American Godzilla from 2014 and onwards, and the 2016 Japanese Godzilla. I don’t like most sports, but I do really love swimming. Currently the only shows I’m watching are One Piece and My Hero Academia.

I’m studying Computer Science because I want to make a lot of money, mainly for games. However, I also want to be able to support and give back to my family that’s helped me get here. Right now my plan to live alone and be as free as I want to be, and GSU is my first step in the future I want.

This clip is by far my favorite scene in the 2016 Japanese Godzilla film, Shin Godzilla.

A Bit About Me

My career goal is to work in a science lab.  My future college plans are to get into a good biology class at the downtown campus, to get a biology degree, and to learn more about how the human body works.  In conclusion, I plan to learn cool biology things.

Here is a picture of my favorite movie and book characters.

Hi everyone! My name is Christina Hendreson. I was born in Chicago, Illinois and now live in Decatur, Georgia. I have two dogs that I love very much, Slim and Lizzy. My goal this year is to read at least three books every month. I don’t have a favorite genre of music; I will listen to whatever. I could say that I mostly listen to K-pop and RnB. My favorite music artist is probably BTS, and my favorite song by them is Save Me. I don’t do any sports right now, but I did competitive gymnastics for six years. It’s hard to think of my favorite movie because there are so many, but Howl’s Moving Castle or Divergent come to mind. My favorite genres are sci-fi and coming-of-age films.

I am a Junior in High School and am taking dual enrollment classes at Perimeter College. So far, I have no major yet, but I am interested in Sports Medicine or something with Tech or Statistics. I want to be very successful and earn lots of money. I plan to learn French and try a foreign exchange program for a French-speaking county, maybe France. I want to experience a different way of life other than in America. I also want to travel to other countries like Japan, South Korea, Egypt, Brazil, etc. In the end, I want to make sure I can have a lot of money to do the things.

About Anjuli

A five strand French braid

My name is Anjuli مَريَم(Maryam). I have both an Indian and an Arab name, though I am neither, but I love both of them, and even use both of them. I use Anjuli in English, and Maryam when I speak in Arabic (the very small amount I know).

I have always lived in Atlanta, always been homeschooled, and always been an oldest. And I love all of those things. My hobbies (though I don’t really think of the first as a hobby) are reading and braiding hair. I happily read anything and everything, but my favorite genres are fantasy and science fiction. I almost always read digitally now, on an app on my phone. It has great perks, like being able to hold twenty big books in one tiny rectangle. My other hobby, braiding, is a very recent one. I like to braid (or knit) while I read books, especially school books, so that I have something to do with my hands. I can do 2, 3, 4, and 5 strand braids pretty easily. More are hard, but I love playing with what I can do.

Another important thing about me: I use sarcasm frequently, always meaning well. I love to laugh, and find many reasons to do so. And I frequently quote (often unconsciously) random things, especially by Terry Pratchett. That mostly make me laugh.

I have not decided what I will do after college, in college, or very much at all. My current goal is to finish my last year and a half of high school and my dual enrollment classes successfully, and to learn the skills necessary to be a responsible, productive adult.

Although, I have two favorite singers, they are: Ks bloom and Morijah. They’re French singers. https://youtu.be/pqjwuzCqa-4https://youtu.be/GlfKkDHKMQg

I graduated from I high school in 2021 and this is my first semester as a freshman. My major is biology. BLOG POST #1

Hi, my name is Tony, and I’m here to tell you all about my mysterious life. Well, my life isn’t as weird or adventurous as I would like it to be; I believe I’m still exploring different pathways to success. I wonder how many people can relate to me as I write about this Topic. Do most teens my age know what they want to be in life or what they want to achieve at such a young age? I have a lot of interests and different majors that I want to explore. I’ve always been an entrepreneur most of my life, whether I was selling my clothing brand to classmates in middle school or being a digital entrepreneur in high school selling products online. I think that’s why I just settled with my business major instead of exploring my other options. I really don’t know what else would be a good fit for me, my hobbies most of my life have been sports, playing video games, exercising, and I love traveling. I just don’t see any of those hobbies making a career out of. I can say that I’m a very artistic person and I LOVE music, movies/tv shows, and sports!!! My favorite tv show to binge watch would definitely be Game of Thrones, and there’s nothing better than lying down watching GOT and watching Football all day. As much as I would love to be able to do my favorite things all day, I soon have to face reality and realize I have real-life responsibilities I need to focus on.

I wonder whether most people feel like life is a continuous cycle of attempting to better yourself every day. I wake up every day and learn something new, whether it’s a mistake I made or an experience I had that I could have done something different or better in. As I think about my life and career, I think about making the best decisions possible. If I only have one life, I want to live it to the best potential possible. I honestly don’t know what or who I want to be in the future; I just know I want to care for the people who took care of me. I also want to put the people I surround myself with in a better situation and environment. This all starts with me figuring out what I want to achieve in college. I plan to finish this semester at Perimeter with a 3.0 or higher and then transfer downtown, where I’ll start exploring different majors to figure out what’s best for me. I really want to challenge myself by trying new things; I would love to try new hobbies or try something that I’ve never done before, I could be an outstanding digital designer, but I would never know unless I get out of my comfort zone to try it. I believe everyone should do more exploring career paths instead of settling down with things there just “good at.”
