Project 4 My Story

In 2019 the spread of covid 19 affected everyone’s life at first; however, that impacted diversity based on who you were. Many industries were impacted like health workers, students, and families. The experiences of each individual in the pandemic are hard to capture. Let me take you into time to show you covid 19 from my perspective how we turned a tragic situation into a learn experiences and made everything go back to normal. “Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving; we get stronger and more resilient.” ~ Steven Maraboli. Since the outbreak majority of the people are following restrictions to keep everyone safe. We could start traveling again, electronics has satisfied the world for jobs and educational purposes, and we still can enjoy our freedom.

When it all started, many industries were impacted by covid 19 but especially healthcare professions. Healthcare professionals during the pandemic were affected negatively in many ways. For example, they mentally faced challenges such as burnout, depression, anxiety, and problems sleeping. The pandemic impacted healthcare workers the worst. Since the pandemic, every hospital has been full of covid cases worldwide. Healthcare workers have suffered from stress, depression, and anxiety. Imagine being healthcare during the time of this pandemic? Scary right!    Healthcare workers play an essential role in everyone’s lives and our communities. Healthcare workers are frontline heroes working long shifts.

Meanwhile, normal people were locked down for a while; restaurants, schools, clubs, airports, etc., were closed down to the public. In fact, were doing school online; everything was virtual court meetings, church sessions, classes, etc. During this time, I learned many new things like cooking and baking. After all, I had to know because I was home and we couldn’t go outside much at first. As time went by, they reopened schools. You could come to school in person, or you could finish online. Courts were still on zoom meetings. They came out with the vaccine to help fight against the virus. Many places require you to be vaccinated; for example, health care workers must be vaccinated, and travelers must be vaccinated or tested negative for covid 19 in the last 24 hours before boarding.

In addition, the public started opening back up ad schools started reopening parents and students made decisions on whether their child was virtual or back on campus. To illustrate, some students finish online and some students went back on campus with masks. Electronics has become more beneficial than ever before. Today we use electronics for everything. We Mainly use them for work, learning emailing, and researching and etc. In fact, we have been doing pretty good with preventing the spread of the virus, which has slowed the virus down. “Masks are coming off: restrictions are being lifted.” and “as covid 19 pandemic winds down, people are more eager to party more than ever”.

In other words, Covid-19 was an experience nobody will forget. Many industries were impacted namely health care workers, students and, families. Although the experiences were not the same the world felt the same way we all faced many problems during the time of the pandemic many of us lost loved ones and many friends but we also gained a lot of important knowledge and information. We all are working together to prevent the spread of covid –19 so we can enjoy our life.

Final Draft #2

In 2019 the spread of covid 19 affected everyone’s life; however, that impacted diversity based on who you were. The experiences of each individual in the pandemic are hard to capture, but here are some images that reflect the bright side of the pandemic. “Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving; we get stronger and more resilient.” ~ Steven Maraboli. The three images highlight how we have benefited from a tragic situation. since the outbreak majority of the people are following restrictions to keep everyone safe. We could start traveling again, electronics has satisfied the world for jobs and educational purposes, and we still can enjoy our freedom. All these images highlight how people have benefited from the pandemic.

In 2019 the outbreak of corona impacted the whole world and everyone in it. The public was closed to prevent the spread; everyone practiced social distancing, keeping everything that everyone came into contact with sanitized, and wearing masks as you see in the image. The setting is in an airport, a radiant place sun beaming through from the sunroof. It is a busy place; the people wearing gloves are cleaning the rails and handles with spray bottles and rags to clean and wipe down everything. Noone’s making eye contact because this is occurring today, there are not trying to convince anyone about anything. The image has ethos because it is trustworthy, it’s well-meaning because it shows you the different people from different races and religions from all over the world use airports and is going in and out of other states, countries all over. It gives knowledgeable information as well. As we stay safe, the pandemic calms down; the world is back to normal.

From the looks of the image, it is a safe public community, brilliant and radiant outdoor learning environment for students. A student is on the laptop in front. The student is trying to catch a signal to do her school work from the smoothie shop behind her. Everyone is wearing a mask; We use electronics in everything we do; paper and pencils are an option majority of the population use electronics are our assignments. All teachers use electronics for learning, making it a must for all students to have a laptop at home. Its trustworthy image is well-meaning and knowledgeable because it is related to today’s world crisis. Electronics play a significant role in keeping the world safe; technology is the greatest invention we have, it’s very beneficial, especially during the pandemic.

furthermore, we have been doing pretty good with preventing the spread of the virus, which has slowed the virus down. “As covid 19 pandemic winds down, people are more eager to party more than ever”.- Cindy Eastman and Angelo Farenga. I agree; in this image, there are pretty girls with bright smiles in mini party dresses one girl has on a bright pink dress, and one has on a purple one; they’re in a limo with colorful disco lights and LED lights, mirrors, speakers TVs, etc. It’s a small gathering, not overcapacity; eight to ten people. A guy is taking their group photo. Another person is snapping this image from behind him. They’re most likely close friends trying to stay safe and still enjoy themselves with friends, but no one has on a mask. Many people aren’t wearing masks when there out with friends at parties or clubs because it’s optional; many choose not to wear them. This image has pathos because people enjoy themselves. People should be liberal and decide to take risks when going out.

The images capture events since the outbreak in 2019 until now 2022. These images describe how the world changed before our eyes; it was a tragic situation, but we learned how to cope and adjust to new things from this experience. Equally, we worked together to prevent the spread so we could travel, use electronics more than ever, and be liberal to decide to take the risk and not wear a mask.

Visual Rhetorical

Visual Rhetorical

All animals should be respected, just like humans. Most of us have pets and think of them as part of the family. We couldn’t imagine someone harming or hurting them or even trying to. We defend our pets like they’re our family. Many pets are abused or oppressed; every day. Many, even kids, mistreat pets, harm and abuse pets, and some people respect their pets and other pets. have you ever seen those commercials where animals and pets have been mistreated and are looking for new families to rescue them? Those commercials are the saddest to see and see somebody miss treat something God created like you and me. We want to be treated right with care and respect and pets. They deserve to be loved and cared for like humans. They should be treated with respect also. My first impression of the visual rhetorical I picked is the well know rapper named Waka Flocka Flame. He is known for his loud and rebellious rap music. He is an African American male with tattoos holding a rescued dog Daphna who looks like she has been mistreated and abandoned. They are positioned right to the words. I see the design of the grey background with a darker shade of grey and red words. he is making eye contact, and the dog is as well.

I peep PETA in red which stands for People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals. I see waka warns cowards to “pick on somebody your size because it says, “Only Cowards Abuse Animals. It also says on the red part in the image with light white words and one bold white word: “To dogs and cats, people are often the biggest bullies.” the one bold white word is people. In the dark grey, it says, “please always speak up if you see or suspect cruelty to animals, including chaining fighting or abuse of any kind. Their lives may depend on it.” It feels like it is arguing and aiming to stop chaining, fighting, and other abuse of dogs and other animals. The image’s argumentative strategy is ethos because they are using someone who will convince the audience, somebody trustworthy, knowledgeable, and well-meaning. It is also pathos because it brings emotions. It may be logos because it gives reasoning and figures about people bulling animals.

Treat animals with kindness. It could be a problem with them using an African American holding a dog. Telling people only cowards abuse animals. Many whites care for the pets like family, you know, like feed them human food ride around with them in their car people take the dogs o doggy dates get them groomed and African American people do that as well. Still, many African Americans treat pets like wildlife animals. They give them water and dog food they them. Chained up in the backyard, barely give them baths. They don’t even take their pets to the vet to get checked; even some just let their pets die. So them using a black male who is known for his rebellious rap music and is on a very popular reality show in Atlanta could be seen as problematic considering what I just said about how many Africans treat pets and animals.

self-assessment

Hi, my name is Aloany Singh. In this discussion, I will be explaining my first essay of the semester, the structures I used to piece my essay together, and the strategies I used to complete my final draft. So, I started by reading the prompt and the rubric. I then began brainstorming, and I used a diagram. I also used prewriting drafting as a strategy. I used bullet point notes, keywords, and outlines. I used chronology order, organization mind mapping, and looping. After gathering all the details, I wanted to include them in my essay. I begin with the purpose of writing the essay.
Then I began to gather my audience’s attention by introducing myself. I started by talking about the current chapter in my life and my career pathway plan. I was glad to engage and tell my side of the story relating to the pandemic and how it felt living in the moment from my perspective and experience. I can say pretty much everything went well; from brainstorming to outlining to prewriting my rough draft to writing my final essay, it all went well. The strength of the paper is I used very descriptive details when I was writing. I put everything together in the end by just using a few transition words and adding some words to make everything make sense to the readers. It wasn’t difficult for me. My instructor went over the instructions well, and in every detail, she gave us a rubric to follow and so many more helpful tools and strategies to write the essay. I struggled with closing my sentences and writing them clearly for readers to read and understand. my weakness of the paper was that I had to rephrase some things, find a stopping point, and include punctuation. I would use all these strategies in the future; brainstorming, outlining, prewriting the rough drafting was my favorite strategy. I used New York Times resource to get data. Next time, I will find a closing point in my sentences and write my sentences clearer for the readers to read and understand.

BLOG POST#4 pt three

Today we are still in this pandemic from 2020 to 2021, and now things have changed so much. At first, in 2020, everything was closed down. We were locked down for a while; restaurants, schools, clubs, airports, etc., were closed down to the public. We were doing school online; everything was virtual court meetings, church sessions, classes, etc. During this time, I learned many new things like eating and baking. After all, I had to know because I was home and I could go outside much at first. As time went by, they reopened schools. You could come to school in person, or you could finish online. Courts were still on zoom meetings. They came out with the vaccine to help fight against the virus if you caught it. Many places require you to be vaccinated, as health care workers must, and traveling out of states, you must be vaccinated.

To get on a flight, you must have been vaccinated or tested negative for covid 19. Today things have reopened with mask-required signs for entry. When we returned to school, things were strict; we had to walk only one way to class and go up and down the stairs one-way shopping. We still must wear masks, but some people don’t enforce the overcapacity rule much longer. We are wearing masks and practicing social distancing. Some people don’t even wear masks. Some people never did because of the belief. Many have seemed to go back to regular living without wearing masks, and more people are now coming back outside. Then some people are still being cautious with this by still wearing masks and face coverings out in public, shopping, work, and school. Hence, there is still some positivity in this; we live life somewhat normally again but with masks and hand sanitizer. I learned many lessons from this. To be cautious. Keep my hands washed. Use hand sanitizer after touching things like the gas pump, keeping everything disinfected with disinfection spray, keeping everything clean, making sure the kids keep their hands washed and ut their mouths, and practicing social distancing. We should continue to prevent the spread of any virus..now it’s a new virus out named omicron variant. They did even know much about it yet. It’s very frustrating because we don’t know what is happening or how dangerous this new virus is. other than that, we are somewhat back to living a regular life, still wearing face-covering and social distancing.

BLOG POST #3

blog post#3 pt two:

In March 2020, I remembered being in school in my first-period health science class doing an assignment on preventing the spread of covid. I was working at Zaxby’s, a fast-food restaurant in Florida, things started changing radically; restaurants were closed for inside dining for a while, but the drive-through was open a lot of places were to go only. Playing sports was difficult, especially for student-athletes. We couldn’t play and get highlights. We couldn’t do what we love. We could work out by going to the gym either the pandemic was that bad. Academically, we weren’t getting that classroom time we needed to our teacher in person, like hands-on things.
Even some people found it difficult to pass their classes. Even some people had trouble focusing on school when so much was happening around them. Many families lost loved ones due to covid 19. many people still had to be quarantined for 14 days after traveling. Some people had to stay away from their elderly family members so they wouldn’t bring them into contact with the virus, and some people couldn’t even see their families because they had the virus. Some people were getting sick and couldn’t come in for work. So, the business was short of staff we could be outside. I feel like something or someone is trying to control the world dangerously, and it’s unnecessary. Going out in public is not the same. We have to wear masks because every store has face-covering required for entry policy it working so far. Still, it’s scary because wearing a mask does really stop you from catching it, but it does help you prevent the spread when visiting someone in the hospital. Even doctors always wear masks for protection. Everyone was shopping for the same things, which caused a shortage of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, disinfection spray, even masks. If your mom is anything like mine, you know, scared of everything and believing everything the news says. My mom was afraid of us leaving the house and returning to bring germs to my baby brother; she got a face-covering required sign on the front door. She even has the hand sanitizer dispensers around the house on the walls. So imagine just going to school one day talking about how to prevent the spread of the virus to doing school online from home in the middle of the year because of the virus. The cases were getting outrageous. Everybody was quarantining everybody has to be cautious going out in public and practice. Continue to practice social distancing staying 6 feet apart, listening to music, and doing school work. I watched Netflix series like Jane the virgin money heist, just things trending on social media. I even started looking at college because, at first, I was thinking about joining the military. Still, this pandemic made me want to become a doctor or nurse in the medical field to help prevent future viruses.

BLOG POST #2 pt one:

It was around the holidays when I was visiting my family. It was a lovely winter with windy leaves on the ground; I spent time with my brother, sisters, and cousins. I don’t get to be around them except for holidays later in the year. On this day, We woke up, cooked breakfast, got dressed, we went outside. It was a beautiful sunny day cool the sun was beaming; we played with the new toys they got. We came back inside. My grandmother cooked us some Mexican rice and beans with plantains we ate. They sat around in the living room, watched television, and talked about how school was going. We also spoke to my father on the phone because he wasn’t home. We bonded for a couple of days. My other cousins came over; I chilled with them; we talked and laughed. We listened to some rap music. It was hilarious when I heard my cousins’ music on TV. We didn’t even know about the pandemic.
The virus had already started developing in December 2019. I didn’t know a virus could cause so many deaths. The cases were rising every day and everywhere. The Cases of this disease from “The New York Times New cases and deaths” states, “From March 2, 2020, was 16 cases and upon January 18, 2022, they’re 1,178,403 New Cases.” I remember first hearing about the pandemic through social media, my family members, the news friends, their parents, my teacher’s people out in public on the phone just everywhere. At first, I couldn’t believe it was true. It was so many different storylines relating to the pandemic. Many people started experiencing all types of symptoms like fever and cold vomiting. It was like they were dying so fast. Many families lost loved ones or knew somebody who passed due to COVID – 19.
Many people who died from COVID – 19 had other diseases and heart problems which caused them to be at high risk for testing positive for COVID – 19. For some, we could’ve even gone to school or gone outside to have fun. The whole world was on lockdown , and we all had to be inside by a specific time. Some places were closed due to the pandemic   which was the saddest thing in the world for me. I never imagined being told to wear a mask in public, or you couldn’t enter. I never knew the whole world could be in quarantine like no school, no work, only health care, and essential workers. People were out risking their lives to save other lives. People were even working to take care of their families during the pandemic. As time went by, we returned to school, but everything was different; we had to walk a sure way to class. The building was one way in the other way out. Suppose caught walking the wrong way to class on campus by the administration. They make you walk around the right way even if it was shorter to your classroom; you had to walk all away round to the correct entry. At first, we couldn’t play sports. We started social distancing and wearing masks. Our classes were online. The tables in the lunchroom were six feet, with no more than three people at a table. Everywhere I went, somebody was talking about the pandemic. There were signs in everything store saying “masks are required ” in restaurants, stores, church schools. We are currently still in that pandemic today. Most things today are still virtual, and We are practicing social distancing.
