It is clear and apparent that MARTA is not holding up their end of the deal as far as their vision statement is concerned. I believe that the built environment of 5 points station is home to many of today’s “isms” such as racism, ableism, and one could even argue ageism. Therefore, action needs to be taken to improve Atlanta’s reputation. For example, simply hiring a clean up crew to take care of the 5 points environment may attract new comers and also new business, which intern helps the city. The end result of new improvements to this area will ultimately bring attention to the many problems that are faced everyday in downtown Atlanta and move the city in a positive direction.
