A Topic that is socially relevant is the fight for equality in America because the purpose is to demand for change not only for blacks but for all races, gender, sexuality, and education reforms. Most of the time people in the world they tend to judge and talk down to others who may not believe in the same things. For example, sexuality people are often afraid of embracing who they are whether its gay, lesbian, transgender, and etc. because they will get judged and receive backlash for it which is not the right thing to do because most people in the world wouldn’t like it if their judged for every move they make. Another example is how blacks are getting treated unfairly and harassed on a daily basic.
My first scholarly source Equality: The New Legal Framework by contributes to the topic because it focuses on what equality is and the impact it has on our community. As well as it explains different measures people took to gaining equality then compared to now and it shows the consistent backlash those got just for supporting the movement for equality in the world. My second scholarly source Equality and Diversity by: Ogden, Charlie contributes to the topic because it shows the importance of treating people equally so people can feel accepted . In addition to that it also, it focuses on other ways people in our society right now can affect change in a positive way.
My third scholarly source Social Equality: On what it means to be equals contributes to the topic because it explains the steps it takes for equality to come to light through justice. In addition to that my source states that” the failure to treat a person as an equal is an injustice” which also connects with my topic because it shows the true value of equality. My fourth verifiable source Educational Equality by: Harry Brighouse, Kenneth R. Howe, James Tooley, Graham Haydon contributes to the topic because it provides why education equality is important today because it helps students get the same opportunities as others.
