Sink Project I, charcoal pencil and graphite 18x24in

This project’s goal was to draw the negative space between objects under the kitchen sink using charcoal pencil. I added a plant and a watering can to make this task more interesting for myself. I started by faintly outlining objects to estimate and measure aspect ratio (which might have been cheating, because I didn’t 100% trace the negative space). I tried not to get bogged down the details but instead allude to texture through line. Although the objects aren’t as spatially accurate as I would like (nor do I like the lines very much), I will use this skill to measure objects for size and aspect ratio. This became useful for the perfumes piece later.
