  • Currency: I was able to find topics that were relevant and current to issues/topics that we experience today. Topics such a sex trafficking, racial issues, and energy were some articles that were featured on the home page. All of these topics are current issues but as I was looking through the citations of the article I noticed that the sources were quite outdated. For example, the racial issues article had sources dated back as far as 1997, but that doesn’t mean the information is wrong or obsolete (as we know we still suffer racial issues).
  • Relevance: This website does an excellent job of giving you important detailed information. The only flaw I would see is that some articles are EXTREMELY long and filled with maybe too much information making it overwhelming for the reader. I also like how the information doesn’t show a bias, just simply giving the reader facts on the topic.
  • Authority: I was not able to find an author on any of the articles I read. I also did not find a publisher for the sight. The website does state the following, “Just Facts is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

Information provided by Just Facts is not legal, tax, or investment advice.”

  • Accuracy: The information is accurate in my opinion. Based on the two articles I read everything made sense to myself and the information I already knew.
  • Purpose: I believe the people behind the website just wanted to provide reliable and accurate information. Especially on topics that tend to have such extreme biases. They want to provide a reliable site to get the correct information and skip going through useless websites gathering information.

  • Currency: Most of the articles on the website are about the presidential race. I did come across a fee other articles but they still tended to lend towards topics somehow related to the government. All articles were up to date all being dated in 2016. As you can imagine since the articles are about the presidential race all the information is current and up to date.
  • Relevance: I was very surprised that the article I read didn’t have any bias information leaning towards either political party. All the information was very factual and wasn’t filled with bias opinions. The article I read specifically actually talked about the top false and misleading claims by the presidential candidate. Simply setting the record straight. Although this article was to correct and “set the record straight” about claims Hillary Clinton made. I also find articles setting Trump straight on several statements he made that were wrong.
  • Authority: The website does list the authors of each article and the time it was posted or last updated. The website has a small staff of 8 people that all have background in public policy.
  • Accuracy: To be completely honest I don’t pay much attention to the current events of the presidential race so I wouldn’t know it the information was factual based on my knowledge. But after skimming through some articles and from what I hear and saw for myself it looks that the information is accurate.
  • Purpose: I assume the purpose of this website is to provide further insight into the presidential race and the debates that occur. I also believe it was really important for the creators to provide factual information because MANY websites will feed lies to make people conform to their opinion or only report one-sided news on the presidential campaign.
