The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

When I first looked at this novel several things roamed my head such as why is the dog upside down and what exactly is the curious incident? I did not expect the main character of this book to be autistic however it made the book better. It allowed me to step out of my world and into someone else’s who thinks differently than I. As I began to read, the first thing that I noticed was the style. It was completely different than what I was accustomed to– there were no metaphors and figurative language. Yet, I actually appreciated the decision of the author of doing so because it kept my focus and left me on edge to read more. Not only that, but it really was a short read and the chapters of the book were written in prime numbers and were unbelievable short. It illustrated the struggle of coming to age in which many individuals battle with. But most importantly it taught me that there are practically no problems that we cannot solve. If Christopher can do it, you can! The book is hope giving, literally. IT IS A MUST READ!
