I define art as a visual image of your imagination and your current situation. people use art to express their feelings, thoughts, and desires. Art can talk for the artist without him or her starting a conversation. I believe that art is everywhere in your room, on streets, at a coffee shop and even in nature. the way you decorate your room wall can tell a lot about you, for example, your dreams, ideas, and emotions. In my room, I have a painting of Eiffel tower. In that painting, some friends are sitting and watching that tower that shows my dreams and expresses my feeling about traveling the world.
In class I learned that art is a way of communication.”all art communicates something” and that art can be everywhere. my definition of art is similar to the class definition. I believe that artist communicates their feelings or emotions through art.
when it comes to beauty in art to some people beauty plays a big role. They believe that if art is not pretty it’s not an art but I think that art does not have to be all glamorous because an artist feelings are not always beautiful it can be ugly. I do not think art should be about how it looks it should be about how it makes you feel.

Nice to meet you. By the way your picture is beautiful and interesting. The picture portrays just what you desire as you stated in your post. The women in the image seems to be on vacation and are enjoying time in France. They have obviously shopped until they have dropped restless on the bench. Their dresses and actions within portray beautiful emotions of happiness and self empowerment. Beauty is not always absolutely pretty to the eyes but touching to the heart in my own opinion. However we all have mixed emotions and feelings.
Sounds like the image (that I can’t see?) does a good job of supporting Amna’s view that art should create an emotional response. 🙂

I truly believe that art is everywhere just like you mentioned. Some people may not define some objects as art, yet people can express themselves in different situations. I like how describe your room as being decorated. It can definitely show what kind of personality a person may have. I also agree that when it comes about the importance of art beauty, it shouldn’t matter if its beautiful or not. It should matter more about what the intent and message that is getting across.

Art is definitely a language of its own. There are so many things art can convey without saying a single word. A person’s personal space is definitely a good indication of what kind of person you are. The painting you described sounds very interesting. I’ve traveled a bit but I’ve yet to experience Paris.
