The Website Project

Similar to the Blogging Project, creating a website or portfolio can expans a student’s knowledge of how communication can work on the Internet. By creating products that focus on their work and skills, students can take the first step in building an online brand.

From creating websites, portfolios, and databases as assignments, students can:

  • Continue to develop skills in writing and research.
  • Explore techniques in writing and producing content for the Internet.
  • Learn the basic of web design and  working with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress to create websites.

Students have easy access to:

EduBlogs: A more secure and academically ready version of the WordPress system. Each student, faculty, and staff member at Georgia State University has access to their own site. Since EduBlogs is web-based, students can work on this project from any computer with an Internet connection, but also receive support and assistance from staff members at the CATLabs.

Learn more about EduBlogs at Sites@GSU.

Domain of One’s Own: a full web hosting server set up exclusively for Georgia State University students, faculty, and staff. Like EduBlogs, Domain of One’s Own is primarily web-based and students need only to have a computer with an Internet connection.

On the iPad:

If you are thinking about checking out iPads for your class from CETLOE, this is a project that can be done using this device. With the EduBlog app, students can write posts and pages on the go while also working on their blog from their computer.
