The concept of the American Dream has been deeply rooted in the minds of this country since its birth. From colonial tales of early settlement to the post modern times of today, this expression has instilled a sense of hope for what is to come. I question if the American Dream expression’s stance on hope is a legitimate entity the American people should have believed in through six of the the American literary eras.
