Part 1 – Quiet additive drawing
Date completed: June 2024
Medium: 2b and 6b Charcoal pencils
For this part of the project we were supposed to draw something in our home that represented a quiet time for us and I chose a corner of the shelf in my office that has two vases that I love and a picture album. These represent quiet to me because they are beautiful to look at and I keep admiring them when I am working/studying. This process was made with charcoal pencils and it is called additive because we keep adding layers of the charcoal to the drawing to make it darker and richer and we don’t erase.

For this project we made a being out of recycled materials in class and we used the additive drawing process to draw them afterwards. This was extremely entertaining from start to finish. Seeing our trash come to life and receive another form was incredible and drawing it made it even better. I believe that the drawing is a great representation of the actual being and I am very proud of it.
