Part 1- Hand Contour Drawing
Date completed: June, 2024
Medium: Pen
For this part of Project 1, we were supposed to draw our hands in different ways. This process helped build my drawing skills and I could see improvement from the first drawing to the last. It required patience and attention and ended up being a process I enjoyed and learned a lot from.
Part 2- Still Life Contour Drawing
Date completed: June, 2024
Medium: Pen
For this part of Project 1, I drew a still life from the items on my coffee table, which was a surprising challenge. I enjoyed giving the drawing a three-dimensional feel using only a pen and one continuous line. What surprised me the most was that I could get something to look accurate while drawing with my less dominant hand.
Part 3- Closet Contour Drawing
Date completed: June, 2024
Medium: Pen
This contour drawing of my closet to me as the best one because I had done the process with the other parts of this project so even though it was a little challenging I still enjoyed it very much and I am very proud of the result because you can see movement, patterns and different textures and lengths through the piece.
Part 4- Under the Sink Drawing
Date completed: June, 2024
Medium: Charcoal Pencil
Part 4 of the Project was extremely satisfying to work on. We focused on the negative space drawings that we found under our kitchen sinks. Negative Spaces are the spaces in between and around the actual items using fewer details about the space itself.
This was fun because it made me pay very close attention to space and the natural contouring lines of the actual objects instead of the object itself and that helped me in other projects that came after as well.
