SUMMARY OF CONTENT 


Resilience

During later life, older adults experience physical, social, and emotional transitions.  Resilience is the ability to cope successfully when challenged by significant change or adversity.  Resilience involves multiple domains including biological, psychological, social, and spiritual functioning.

This module provides an overview of a resilience model and interventions to enhance coping and resilience in older adults . The podcast provides examples of resilient older adults, including those who have survived the Holocaust.

Dr. Roberta Greene is Professor Emerita from the School of Social Work at The University of Texas-Austin.  She is the author of over 100 publications in social work and aging, and has authored or edited 18 books.
