Hey everyone happy second week! This assignment is a tad different for me just on the research aspect. First I’ll mention the different websites that I research and subscribe too in order to view acting jobs. I look up casting agencies in Atlanta, and actors access, The casting network, Central Casting, Backstage, etc. pop up. So the one that I use is Actors Access, it has different subscription options. The first one is free, but you’re not able to actually submit to jobs. The other two are $9.99/mo or $68/yr and a 10% discount for SAG members. SAG is an acting union. So once you pay this subscription you can view all the different jobs they have. A job on there that interested me was a casting call for a production named The Knee Touch, and they are looking for two characters with specific looks. What was listed is 20 to 28yrs old, Black, Mixed Ethnicity woman, slender. Then the description says what type of personality that they are looking to portray and if their is nudity/kissing, etc. It also lists the pay and if it’s a supporting or Lead Role.
My daily job hunts usually go like this, I check the site all times of day, and night to see if anything new pops up. So the qualifications can range from simple things as ride a bike or be a exotic dancer. You submit to jobs that you feel best match your looks, personalities you can portray and if you have any specific skill such as a fire breather or a teacher. I also have a age range I can play due to my looks, I can look from 14-26.

Once they decide they want to see more from you they will send you sides which is a part of their script which you cannot post or share. They give you a due date for your audition and then they require you to turn in:
- Audition
- Slate (A full body video of you stating your name, age, location)
If you’re picked you will know and if you’re not then you won’t ever hear back usually. What I need to create before I graduate is an accurate depiction of where my skills will be. This will help producer, casting directors and agents notice my work.

- Add more footage to my reel to show my acting abilities
- Take different professional classes in order to hone my skills
- Revamp my instagram because it is essentially a portfolio platform
- Gain an audience and genuine following because that is looked at now
This assignment reinforced the goals that I am working on and helped me have a more clear path of how I want to build my brand as an actor. Sometimes when you redo the actual research you pay attention to what you’re doing. I’m use to job hunting because as an actor jobs are not guaranteed even if your qualified, you have to hustle and bustle everyday. So sometimes you are moving around a lot and fast that you just do things as a habit. It felt good to write a list down and it clarity of what my next steps are.
