We got to experience a lot of different medias during this project. We worked with grey toned paper and charcoal. We used ink and got to experience doing washes. We also did a creative “Skull in four projected” that included using charcoal, conte, ink, and watercolor to create a creative landscape piece. We studied organic green bell peppers and drew them with ink and did a wash of them. We also did a self portrait on grey toned paper using charcoal, and conte crayon if wanted, and a drawing of a skull using grey toned paper and charcoal as well.
I used charcoal pencil for the self portrait and the skull drawing. I studied the different values I saw on my face and on the skull and its surrounding areas. I captured the shadows and tried to emphasize them to get as much depth as possible.
