Reductive Drawing is drawing using your eraser. We were required to use no line and to create our drawings only using an eraser to capture the different values and shadows to show our objects.
For this assignment I studied the cast shadows from the objects that I was drawing to create depth in my drawing. I also studied and recreated the different values on the objects, without using line, to form the objects. I used vine charcoal and compressed charcoal to get the darkest areas. Our final piece was done on 18″x24″ paper.
