At the beginning of each semester, I have a plan to get to know my students. We begin with me introducing myself, getting familiar with the school schedule, my teaching schedule, and my contact information. We then segue into me getting to know the students and them learning more about one another. I have included here the PowerPoint used to facilitate this process which includes the rules of the road for face-to-face students and virtual students.
I also ask students to complete a survey to help me begin to build relationships with them and their families. This year, I asked that they share their thoughts and feelings about the pandemic and if their families had been affected in any way.
