Project #3 (Still Life Value)

Date: March 2024

Materials: Vine Charcoal, and Charcoal Pencils (2B) (6B)

Statement: My Still Life Value project consisted of using objects that have different shapes. The setup for the background had a black blanket and cloth covering a box for the top objects to stand on. Each object presents the different shading and lighting values.

Reflection and Analysis:

For my Still Life Value Project, I chose 6 objects to draw including a Miniature Elephant figure, Virgin Mary (Our Lady of Guadalupe) figure, Hello Kitty figurine, Rosary, Sleeping Cat figure, and a Small Mug.

All of these objects were perfect choices for my project. They all have different sizes and shapes that stand out, it was easy to shade each section of the figures and objects. All of the objects stand out and display a variety of values.

The Charcoal pencils I used were a 2B and 6B. My vine charcoal helped me prep the paper perfectly. I added a a lot of range of value in my project that makes it clear to see each object and its own details.
