All materials used for these are Bristol paper (x4), Blick Ink, and a pen nib with it’s holder.
This is a drawing of a bell pepper using ink. This was done in the style of contour, in which the it is drawn similarly to an outline. The nib rarely left the paper unless for re-inking. There is no shading for this drawing.
This is the same pepper but not drawn in contour. It is drawn using the hatching technique, in which shading of the pepper is done by drawing consecutive and parallel lines closely together.
This drawing was done using the cross-hatching technique. This technique is very similar to regular hatching, so much so that it can be seen as a variation of hatching. The lines are drawn at an angle to each other instead of parallel.
This drawing was done in a more unique way than the previous two. This technique is called stippling. Instead of lines used for shading, many dots are used instead, sometimes varying in degree of darkness.
