This drawing was done on Stonehenge paper using vine charcoal and darker charcoal as well. For this drawing I had to wear a blindfold and write a phrase that resonated with me. The phrase was “You can plan a pretty picnic, but you can’t predict the weather” taken from the song “Ms. Jackson” by Outkast. After writing the phrase multiple times, I had to draw shapes and symbols that I thought fit with the phrase. After a while, I was able to take the blindfold off and continue drawing and see what I can make from my blind drawings. I ended up making somewhat of an alarm clock with a fan inside. You can make your own interpretations to the drawing if you like.

This drawing was similar in set-up, with me being blindfolded again. However, I was to draw or “re-create” a story that my art professor told. The idea was to bring whatever she said to life like it was a magic charcoal. We used different types of charcoal along the way. This is the aftermath of it.

This drawing is after I took the blindfold off and drew whatever I felt needed to be added. I decided to make it into a movie poster or novel cover for the story she told. All the main plot points are in the drawing, with circles that I feel represent bubbles as if it were a dream.
