Make sure you keep an eye on the users’ capabilities and don’t put anything on your page that will bog down load speeds because the normal time for users to wait for a page to load before getting frustrated is 10 seconds – this includes large images and RSS feeds.
3. No Dead-End Pages
Make sure your homepage is easily accessible from any page or else they will be locked out of the rest of your website.

Since it’s my senior year in college, I have a lot of experience with citations. One thing I learned is what the different methods of citation are used for (ex. humanities, social sciences, etc.). Another thing I learned was that it is important to cite speeches. I also learned that you need to cite when you paraphrase something.
All of the questions on the netiquette quiz were pretty standard, the only one that I got wrong was the one about not responding to a negative comment on your post. I chose the answer that you should tell them not to post negative comments, but honestly I could see why that wouldn’t be proper etiquette. A lot of those kind of comments are from people just trying to get a rise out of you and compensate for shortcomings in their own life, or they have some kind of superiority complex. Telling people not to leave rude comments is just asking for more, or for a fight that can’t be won because those people don’t listen to reason.
1. Studious
Out of all of the apps available in the app store, this is the only one that I was willing to pay for on my phone, even if it was just $1. I have an organizer, but I find it hard to remember to write things in it or keep it with me. God knows I never go anywhere without my phone, so Studious lets me put all of my information for things coming up in one handy eye-pleasing app that will send me a reminder about the due date.
2. SelfControl
This is another app that I love. I have a big problem with being susceptible to interruptions, and this app is perfect for me. It blocks apps that would normally be distractions until a certain time that you decide. So while you’re writing an essay, you can turn off Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and whatever other apps you frequent until you’re done.

This post is going to be a little ironic, since it has taken me weeks into this course to figure out what I’m actually supposed to be doing, so here we go.
Tips to succeed in an online class:
1. Meet with your professors and if possible a fellow student face to face. It is one thing to take an online class and to answer the questions, but to really get an understanding, you need face to face time with your professor, and if you are having problems of would like to brainstorm, ask one of your classmates to meet up on campus.
2. Manage your time. One of the things that most helps me get on track is having a detailed, written out schedule of when my assignments are due for what class, down to the time. I have a habit of getting my days mixed up for due dates, and this has helped me the most. After I have a schedule, then I can figure out when I need to start an assignment to complete it on time.
3. Create a space free from distractions where you can concentrate on your work. I am currently writing this from my office at home, where I have two monitors and a space that makes me feel comfortable, hopefully I’ll be able to catch up!
1. Leading an online presentation on the contents of your history term paper.
2. The final exam for your economics course is coming up and you need to collect all of your (and hopefully your classmates’) online resources for a study guide.
3. You need to create an interactive tour of Brazil as an assignment for your study abroad program.
4. You and a group of your classmates have been asked to do a collaborative research project on how Facebook has affected the social habits of young adults.
