project 4

This project represents a Japanese temple since I find the architecture of it mesmerizing, In the process of making the structure of it I used black magic ink with a crow quill pen to trace panels, the ceiling, bricks on the first floor and the line detail on the roof, the grass on the lower part of the image was made with a brush and napkins to eliminate excess of ink, I also used watercolor for the background and the mountains, and then used a white pastel pencil to go over the mountains by adding subtle traces that would add texture, as for the white top of the mountain I used the contrast of white paper and the added colors to play in my favor so it would be the highlight of the mountain tops. It was crucial to have a set up where I could portray an example drawn from an image that had atmospheric potential to show depth and sense of space.
