Where do I begin… Well, hello there! My name is Andrew Crane and welcome to my film world! Let’s talk a little about me shall we.
At the core I am an artist, I wish I was an artist in every sense, but I mainly focus on storytelling through the visual lens of making films. I always grew up watching movies, I loved all the classic Disney animated movies, a huge Star Wars fan and when you’re a kid you always find interesting things that maybe one day might spark an interest in a future career. For me around the holidays when I was eleven, I had a nightmare one night and when I woke up, I told myself I wanted to be someone who makes those movies. Around that time, I’d say Tim Burton was the most well-known director from his style it was easy to recognize.
As time went on, I discovered the love for the Muppets and their creator Jim Henson who became my main source of wisdom and inspiration. My parents bought me a camera that ran on some double a-batteries, and I remember filming my own version on The Muppet show in my room with skits and songs (sadly I think those videos are lost). As time went on and I entered high school I got more invested in filmmaking around the start of my junior year. I started shooting commercials for upcoming games along with informational videos for the school and the school district. In 2014 I directed my first film A Long Way Home with my friends during spring break.
After that I made a few more short films and decided I wanted to move to Atlanta because it was becoming the Hollywood for the south. In fall of 2015 I moved to pursue my career in the industry and just grow in general moving away from anyone close. And here I am to this day! While I have been down here, I have made some great friends and short films with them, I have finished up college and am beginning to start my career in the film industry. My roommates and I run our own Youtube channel called Atomic Evolution where we have a podcast and talk and review movies old and new. The hope and dream are one day waking up heading to the set of my first feature film with all my friends where we will make something beautiful together for the whole world to see.
