Editing with the tone curve in Lightroom Mobile
(Tutorial by Julieann Tran)
I was absolutely delighted to see not only a truly concise tutorial but a tutorial created using TikTok, about a powerful mobile editing app, Lightroom! Julianne offers a wonderful introduction to the tone curve by explaining that the lowest point on the graph represents the shadows, the middle for the mid-tones, and the upper portion of the curve for highlights. I used this information to make a very basic but necessary tweak to one of the photos I had recently taken of my friends on our recent work trip to Alaska. I pulled down the upper, highlights portion of the curve, which allowed some of the details in the brighter portions of the mountain to be slightly more defined and less exposed. Thankfully I didn’t have to mess with the shadows much as I just wanted to ensure that the background and foreground were distinguishable and exposed properly in the final product.
