Biography

My name is Allie Miranda Carroll. I was born in Marietta, Georgia, and still presently reside there. The furthest I’ve travelled from home was Washington D.C. I hope to do much more traveling in the future (after student loans are paid off). I enjoy hiking with my dog in my free time and in my unfree time I am a preschool teacher for 3 to 4 year olds. I’ve always known I wanted to be an English major due to my love of writing, but never thought I’d end up on the rhetoric side of English. Since childhood, I always thought I’d become a teacher, but after taking a few courses at Georgia State, I felt I hadn’t found my niche. I switched to Rhetoric and Composition out of the love I have for analyzing (anything) and the complexity of appealing to an audience through writing. I feel that rhetoric is the sole core of communication, and without it we end up with presidents like–well, you know. Anyway, I am so glad to have finished my education as a Rhetoric and Composition student, and I can’t wait to see where it will take me in my writing career. If you’re wondering, I have no specific plans, but I dream of getting my masters in marketing in hopes of becoming a writer for some sort of marketing department.
