Hello everyone. I would like to introduce you to my new friend, Candy Garcia. I learned many things about her in our phone interview. To start, She is 19 years old and is currently in her second semester at Georgia State University. She graduated from Parkview Highschool class of 2021. Candy is very nice and approachable, so say hi if you ever get the chance. She likes to cook and try out new recipes that she finds online in her spare time. She says she is a great cook, so I might have to try and make her make me some food.

Candy is a nursing major, and her goal is to become a pediatric or travel nurse. Candy is an incredible student. She works very hard despite having to do so much. The most frustrating thing for her is how busy she gets. She has to balance work with school and take care of her siblings at home. I can only imagine how stressful that can be, but she’s toughing it out.

The three words that describe Candy’s academic self are capable, determined, and reserved. Candy is confident in her abilities as a student. She fully believes that she is capable and mastering any subject if she puts her mind to it. She is also very determined. She is willing to give up personal time to study and earn better grades. That determination is something that I think everyone should have for themselves. Considering her goal of working in the nursing field, it is surprising that her favorite subject is social studies. She says she loves learning about the past because it intrigues her. 

I would have never thought that Candy not only works two jobs but, on top of that, has been a straight-A student since high school. Although she says that she wasn’t really as encouraged or determined for school in high school. Candy says that after she graduated, it hit her, and that’s when she decided that she would be a successful nurse in the future. She gained that fierce determination after she graduated high school.  

Although Candy probably has one of the most stressful schedules and busy life, it is clear that she will achieve her goal of becoming a nurse. She has a drive that you rarely see in other people, and just from talking to her for a day, it is clear just how serious she is about her goals. She plans on achieving those goals, and nothing will stop her.
