I look down to my left and see it, the beat up faux leather, knock-off Rebecca Minkoff bag with scratched up gold hardware, a missing leather tassel, and rusted metal chain. As we approach the venue doors, I struggle to tug on the tattered zipper and easily find our tickets amongst the only other items in the bag, my phone, money, keys, and portable battery. I haphazardly sling the half-empty bag to sit on the edge of my shoulder, unfazed by whatever judgements others would make about my choice to bring such an ‘unnecessary’ item, and carry on with the night knowing I packed only the items I would actually need.
