It is a visual display of information.
A graphic can be an effective way to present data and their interpretation. The common saying that “a picture is worth a thousand words” assumes that a picture can “say” things that words could not say or could not say as clearly or concisely.
Whether you create your own graphics or have others do it, in this module, you will find:
- An introduction to basic design principles for effectively communicating data,
- Some of those principles in action, and
- Common terminology used in graphic design.
